The Poultry Business National Egg and Poultry Awards 2025

Congratulations from Eggbase to all this year’s finalists and award winners.

Finalists, sponsors and guests gathered on Tuesday evening for the presentations to the winners in this year’s 2025 Egg & Poultry Awards. We were delighted to see so many of our clients recognised at this year’s presentations.

Rebecca Reeves of Sir Richard Sutton Ltd won Unit Manager of the Year. The judges were looking for evidence of how the manager has driven the business forward and excelled in motivating staff, hitting targets with a proven commitment to record keeping.

Jack McAlister of Joice & Hill was awarded Young Farmer of the Year
The judges looked for a high achieving individual who has brought new ideas to the business and has been able to demonstrate a commitment to the industry.

Avara Foods were highly recommended as Hatchery of the Year
The judges were looking for a strong performance against KPIs, including a good number of viable chicks per egg and egg utilisation. Hatcheries have an increased responsibility when it comes to biosecurity, which was reflected in the judge’s thoughts, as will the unit’s commitment to staff training.

St Ewe Free Range Eggs received the accolade of Egg Packer of the Year
The judges were looking for evidence of a solid, sustainable business model, plus the successful implementation of a marketing plan.

Hugh Carter of Carter Farms were recognised with the Sustainable Farming Award
To win the Sustainable Farming Award they were able to demonstrate a commitment to reducing the business’ carbon footprint, while improving efficient input uses.

Nicola Carter of Chippindales won Young Processor of the Year
The judges were looking for the Young Processor of the Year to have introduced new and successful initiatives, shown a commitment to the industry, and be an all-round superstar.

The National Egg & Poultry Awards is a prestigious awards ceremony backed by the British Poultry Council (BPC), the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) and the National Farmers Union (NFU), to honour and reflect achievement, excellence and best practice in the British egg and Poultry sector, while promoting the industry and providing networking opportunities for sector members.

Our congratulations to all the finalists and award winners at this year’s presentation ceremony.
