How does the free carbon footprint assessment work?
Eggbase will undertake a carbon footprint for a rearing, laying or broiler farm using the verified Eggbase Carbon Footprint Calculator as part of this free service.
Promar will then follow up with a fully funded consultancy visit to discuss specific issues and areas of focus on the farm, delivering a report to provide insight into the emissions breakdown. This will include key recommendations to seek efficiencies which will both limit the environmental impact of production (emissions and wider sustainability), whilst maintaining productivity and financial sustainability.
The reports remain confidential between the farmer and consultant (not passed on to Defra) and there is no further commitment after the visit. There is an option for up to 2 further visits.
Any business with a group of farms that they wish to carbon footprint can take advantage of this offer for any of their farms that are eligible.
