Proving the Necessity of Detail
This case study explores the impact of receiving seed funding from the Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock on being able to prove the necessity of the detail included in the Eggbase carbon footprint tool.
On receiving the funding, Anne said,
“Seed funding from the CIEL has allowed us to work with Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) to demonstrate the added value and strength of the Eggbase poultry and egg specific carbon footprint tool.”
About the tool itself, Anne said,
“The idea was to help producers, packers and supermarkets measure, understand, report and reduce their carbon footprint using activity data already entered into Eggbase for production recording.”
