The new version 8 of the Lion Code incorporates the latest scientific and veterinary advice, as well as industry expertise, to ensure British Lion eggs continue to be produced to the highest standard of food safety.
The new version requires breeder rearing farms, breeder laying farms, pullet rearing farms and laying farms to carry out “annual or per flock carbon footprint for all farms using any recognised carbon calculator, consistent for business management use with any other enterprise on the farm. This will apply to all flocks housed after 1st January 2024”.
The verified Eggbase Carbon Footprint Calculator makes it easy to comply. The carbon footprint of a flock is an end-of-flock report from your primary production data available from the Eggsense data analytics platform. Minimising data entry and ensuring your carbon footprint is accurate and relevant to you, aids informed decision making when setting targets or building an action plan.
One-off End of Flock or Annual Carbon Footprints and Supplier Scope 3 Emissions Assessments
Alternatively, we offer one-off end of flock or annual carbon footprints and supplier scope 3 emissions assessments. Why not carbon footprint for your current flock when it depletes, or for any of your historical flocks, so you have a baseline to compare future flocks against?
If you have a group of suppliers, why not start assessing their carbon footprints so you have your scope 3 baseline? More details about EGGBASE Carbon Footprinting are available here.
